Nominations open for volunteer award

22/02/2010

The award recognises students who have made a significant and meaningful contribution to the community by volunteering.

It is the second year the University has run the Volunteer of the Year Award. Last year the accolade was presented to Jodie McCaughan, who volunteered at Sandwell Advocacy.

Lynn Banks, Active Volunteers Co-ordinator, said: “We are launching the second year of the award to coincide with our activities for Student Volunteering Week.

“To be eligible to apply or be nominated for this award, University of Wolverhampton students must have registered for the Volunteering Certificate and have completed a minimum of 50 hours volunteering.

“It is a great opportunity to celebrate our students’ achievements in volunteering.”

The closing date to submit nominations is Friday 26 March 2010.
