Top gigs for music students

Talented University of Wolverhampton music students will be performing gigs in professional venues around the region as part of their degree course.

Third year students on the BA (Hons) Popular Music course will be performing 18 gigs over seven nights as part of their Performance Project module.

The venues include The Jamhouse in Birmingham and the Varsity in Wolverhampton.

Senior Lecturer Steve Cooper, from the School of Sport, Performing Arts and Leisure, said: “This year’s cohort of performance project students is our largest yet and features an unprecedented 18 performances over 7 nights, all in excellent, professional level venues.

“This is a wonderful showcase for the Popular Music course and the University’s music department as a whole. A full range of pop styles and genres are covered across the tour with each performer delivering a full band set of 40 minutes.”
