Legal education under the spotlight

11/03/2009

Professor Carol Jones, from the School of Legal Studies, will present the lecture on Wednesday, 18 March 2009 at 6pm.

The free lecture, titled Technopols and ‘Gentleman Lawyers’, will take place in the Millennium City Building Lecture Theatre at Wolverhampton City Campus.

Professor Jones said: “In the lecture, I will argue that legal education is increasingly abandoning its civic and social justice values, focusing instead on subjects which serve the global market economy.”

Professor Jones will relate the changes to the teaching of law in universities.
