Seminar for people who work with young children

The third Early Years Research Seminar on integrated practice in the early years will take place at the Walsall Campus in Gorway Road, on Wednesday, 8 October, from 5pm to 7pm.
 
The guest speaker will be Dr Margy Whalley, Director of the Research, Development and Training Base at Pen Green, Corby, who will give a presentation entitled ‘Children’s Centres – The Leadership Challenge’.
 
Over the last five years, Dr Whalley has led a research studies involving parents in their children’s learning programme and also developing a learning route for those leading integrated Children’s Centres, and this will be the focus of her talk.
 
Dr Tim Waller, Reader in Early Years Education, said: “The aim of the seminars is to engage practitioners and researchers in dialogue about the important issues in early years. The series is open to all local early years practitioners, managers and those working with young children, as well as tutors and research students in early childhood and related fields.”
