Steve has played professionally for many years and the tour fits in with the University’s summer break. He said: “Journey South’s new album Home features all their own music and is in a similar style to Bryan Adams and Bon Jovi. I am looking forward to joining them on the road – and the six piece band will sound great.

“I teach performance as part of the course, and students want to know what touring is really like, and the issues and problems you may face. Students have aspirations to become professional musicians so the professional experience they get from all staff is invaluable.”

Journey South appeared on the X Factor in 2005, and were runners up to Shayne Ward in the final.

The 43-date tour includes a number of dates in the Midlands and started this month.
