21/01/2008
A former Dragons’ Den panellist and founder of successful restaurant chain YO! Sushi is to visit the University of Wolverhampton as a guest speaker.

Simon Woodroffe OBE is to give a talk on inspirational leadership at Wolverhampton Science Park on Tuesday, 29 January 2008.

Simon began his career in the entertainment business and his production companies designed and staged concerts for artists including Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder and George Michael.

In 1997, Simon founded YO! Sushi, a conveyor belt sushi bar which aims to offer a complete entertainment experience.

He most recently appeared on the BBC 2 hit programme Dragons’ Den as one of the panellists who decide whether to invest in a range of inventions and business ideas.

Paul Bishton, Head of Midlands Leadership Centre, said: “We are delighted to welcome such an entrepreneur as Simon, to share his story of success with us. We look forward to gaining insights into his YO! culture that inspired him in his business developments. I am sure our audience will provide challenges to a Dragon out of his Den.”

The seminar is the second in the Inspirational Leadership Programme, hosted by the University in partnership with the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education (LFHE).
