Uni gig to be on MTV

19/02/2008
Music channel MTV will be visiting the University of Wolverhampton to film a gig by an emerging local band.

The Fake Tracies, from Walsall, will be performing at the Students’ Union on Saturday, 1 March 2008, from 8pm.

The free event is open to the public and visitors to the University’s Open Day, from 10am to 4pm, are also welcome to attend.

Leigh French, Sports & Societies Vice President, said: “The Fake Tracies are being filmed by MTV as part of the Oxjam Competition and 'Get Seen Get Heard'. They did an Oxjam gig at Revolutions in Wolverhampton back in October and the band received public votes on one of their videos. Now they are in the last 25 bands that will make it onto MTV. The gig at the Students’ Union will be recorded by MTV and there will also be a short video interview and photographs with the band.”

The other acts performing at the Students’ Union on March 1 are The Indigos, The Traits and The Arrangement.

The show will be aired in March on MTV 2.
