The Mayor introduced a short film featuring many of Wolverhampton's recent and current regeneration projects, including the opening of the University’s MX building in Camp Street last year and the future plans for Summer Row. The students could also see a model of the plans for Summer Row and Bilston town centre.

The Mayor spent time with individual groups of students explaining her role as Mayor, and there were also representatives from the council present who could tell the students more about the regeneration projects.

Kate Williams, International Student Support Officer, said: “We are keen to maintain our strong links with Wolverhampton City Council and see the event as an opportunity for the students to visit the local community, which is an important part of the internationalisation agenda for the University of Wolverhampton. Many of the students said it was an honour to meet the mayor and get to talk to her.”
