Students raise the roof

09/04/2008
The third year BA (Hons) Event and Venue Management students are hosting Black Country Band Relief on Wednesday, 16 April 2008. Money raised on the night will go to Compton Hospice, COCO, The British Heart Foundation and The Blue Cross Appeal.

The event at the Flapper and Firkin in Birmingham from 8pm will feature performances by local bands Down with Sosa, Synopsis, The Disappointments and Devil Cried Mercy.

Organiser Kirsty Castree, a student at the University’s , said: “We are hoping that this event will be a huge success with lots of support from the public, as the money being raised could not go to more worthwhile causes as they are all charities very close to our hearts. Come along and support worthwhile charities with fun and games as well as performances from some of the best local unsigned bands around at the moment."

Tickets cost £4 and all money raised will be split between the four charities. There will also be a raffle.
