Academic Registrar

The Academic Registrar has overall responsibility for the Registry & Faculty Administration including:

  • Ensuring the Academic Registry and Faculty Administration’s structure, systems and processes remain “fit for purpose”, efficient and aligned with the University Strategy
  • The management, development and performance of staff within the Academic Registry and Faculty Administration ensuring that they are supporting the University Strategic Plan and successfully meeting agreed service objectives
  • Leading the design and delivery of excellent academic and support services across the undergraduate and postgraduate student lifecycle from recruitment to graduation
  • Interpretation and development of the University’s academic regulations and compliance within statutory duties in relation to quality assurance, student achievement, assessment and data management

Assistant Academic Registrars

Assistant Academic Registrars take significant responsibility at a senior level for supporting the Academic Registrar in the leadership and management of the Registry’s main services, and for setting and maintaining policy and process for all relevant aspects of student lifecycle administration.

Alongside general responsibilities associated with the role, the Assistant Academic Registrar leads on the delivery of high quality customer service and provides strategic leadership for their areas of their responsibility to ensure that:

  • all aspects of policy, process and student and academic administration for the Division are managed efficiently and effectively
  • an excellent level of customer service is provided
  • an ethos of excellent data integrity, quality and management is embedded into the work of the Division

Head of Quality & Collaboration Unit

 

The Head of Quality & Collaboration (QCU) manages the Unit and its performance, people and processes, to ensure that a high quality, efficient, effective and relevant service is provided to ensure strategic oversight of academic quality and standards of the University’s educational provision, including its partnerships and collaborative arrangements.  Working with the Assistant Academic Registrar (Quality) and Academic Registrar, the Head of Quality & Collaboration has management responsibility for supporting academic governance committees (Academic Board and its sub-committees).

Alongside general responsibilities associated with the role, the Head of Quality & Collaboration Unit is expected to lead on the delivery of high quality customer service and provide leadership for the Unit and function to ensure that:

  • all aspects of key business processes and relevant administration functions are managed efficiently and effectively to meet the standards set by the Head of Division,
  • an excellent level of customer service is provided to all customers of the service,
  • an ethos of excellent data integrity, quality and management is embedded into the work of the Unit.

Directorate Operations Officer

The Directorate Operations Officer provides advice and support to the Academic Registrar and Senior Management Team to ensure the Directorate and University corporate reporting requirements are met, and to provide management information to help with decision making. 

The Directorate Operations Officer also:

  • Deputises for the Academic Registrar and Registry Senior Management Team in agreed aspects of administration and operations.
  • Has an overview of HR, Health & Safety, Finance and general administration of the Registry & Faculty Administration Directorate.
  • Contributes to the strategic and operational development of good working within the responsibilities agreed with the Academic Registrar and Senior Management Team
