Sandra has a back ground in engineering having served in the Royal Air Force as an Aircraft Engineer on first and second line servicing and subsequently working in manufacturing with Ricoh UK Ltd in Telford.
Sandra graduated from the University of Wolverhampton in 2012 with a BSc (Honours) 1st Class in Construction Management and was privileged to receive the CIOB Award for Excellence. She also went on to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Building Information Modelling in 2014.
After graduating in 2012 Sandra was engaged by the Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University of Wolverhampton as Training Centre Facilitator. The role was to work in partnership with a 1st Tier High Value Manufacturer in the Automotive Sector to develop a suite of courses with the aim of the providing training both on and off the job, leading to vocational qualifications and CPD opportunities and the establishment of a workforce progression route . The project provided the university with an innovative approach to partnership working between HE, FE and employer aligned the University of Wolverhampton’s mission to be employer-focused connected with local, national and global communities with a goal of being collaborative, innovative and enterprising.
Sandra is now Workforce Development Co-ordinator with the Centre for Lifelong Learning working to enhance a cross-institutional flexible workforce development offer to equip employers and their employees with appropriate professional and skills opportunities.
