Gaby Steinke joined Wolverhampton Polytechnic as a Lecturer in German in 1987, later becoming Award Leader for BA Modern Languages and German Subject co-ordinator before migrating, via a European Literature programme, into the English subject group, where she is currently Senior Lecturer in English and Course Leader for the MA English in the School of Humanities, Faculty of Arts. Gaby is a staff member of Academic Board and a longstanding member of the University’s Academic Framework and Regulations Sub-Committee as well as co-ordinator of a research cluster, Research in Cultures and Humanities (RiCH). 

For over ten years, Gaby has been a Community Governor at Highfields School in Wolverhampton, where she chairs the Finance, Premises and General Purpose Committee.
