David's career started in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter; learning all aspects of the jewellery industry but focusing on jewellery polishing. He then set up and ran his own business focusing on jewellery polishing, as well as, gold and silver electroplating, employing a number of staff. David has held two other part-time businesses coving a 15 year period working in the leisure industry. He moved into high-street banking for a short time and from there into the Security Industry. He has worked in a number of different sectors of this industry, including holding the post of Security Manager/Loss Prevention Manager within a major Supermarket chain.
David holds a number of qualifications which include: Certificate to teach in the lifelong learning sector (CTLLS); Preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector. (PTLLS); NEBOSH National General Certificate; Institute of Management Certificate in Management (IM) and a number of Security-based qualifications.
He joined the University of Wolverhampton in February 2005 during which time he has been a Security Supervisor for a number of years, working closely with staff and students throughout the University’s different campuses.
As a Governor David aims to bring commitment and hard work to the broad range of subjects and on-going issues concerning the University as a whole, representing on behalf of colleagues at Board Meetings and promotional events.
