Initiatives and Strategies

The Equality and Diversity Unit works with colleagues to develop of initiatives and strategies that help ensure the University of Wolverhampton is at the forefront of Equality and Diversity best practice. 

The following proposal was approved by the Equality and Diversity Committee on 1st December 2016 (pending amendments as agreed by the Equality and Diversity Operational Group on 31st January 2017). It outlined the new remit of the Equality and Diversity Unit, to be now focused on Creating, Checking and Championing Best Practice in Equality and Diversity. It justified this change as ensuring that the EDU operates more strategically, whilst supporting other departments in embedding Equality and Diversity in their everday practice.

The following proposal was approved by the Equality and Diversity Committee on 1st December 2016 (pending amendments as agreed by the Equality and Diversity Operational Group on 31st January 2017). It outlined the new Equality Objectives, and explained how they fit within the broader framework of the Strategic Plan 2016 - 2021.

The following proposal was approved by the Equality and Diversity Committee on 1st June 2017. It outlined the Equality and Diversity Unit's proposed Engagement and Activity Plan for the 2017/18 academic year. The plan was developed in conjunction with colleagues from the Staff Networks. It outlines the planned activities for the forthcoming year.
