Performing Arts Facilities: The Performance HubPerformance Hub

In September 2011, the School of Sport, Performing Arts and Leisure opened the Performance Hub, its landmark building for performing arts at Walsall Campus.

The Performance Hub integrates Music, Dance and Drama teaching and learning provision into one building and boasts exceptional facilities to support student learning at the highest level.

Music

Our computer suites are equipped with iMacs running Protools, Logic, Cubase and Sibelius software. All Steinway School

There are two recording studios with analogue and digital recording facilities and computers offering audio hard disk recording technology.

Students also benefit with five ensemble rooms with full PA and a full range of ethnic and percussion instruments.

Drama

Those studying Drama have access to all the latest performing arts technology, including studios with sprung and semi-sprung floors, editing suites, individual practice rooms and the Hub's very own Black Box Theatre.

For critical analysis of Drama performances, we have a range of data projectors, televisions, video recorders, DV cameras and DVD players as well as both digital and analogue editing suites.

Dance

We offer state-of-the-art research facilities, including a new biomechanics laboratory furnished with the very latest technology including a force platform, motion analysis system, virtual daylight and air-conditioning providing dance students with a physical resource that will match any university in the UK.

Drama and Dance students also have access to Wolverhampton’s Arena Theatre – a professional touring venue where students can see a range of contemporary theatre productions as well as staging their own performances.
