ILE is responsible for supporting the
development of student learning, curriculum design, blended,
flexible and distance learning; it also supports research capacity
building as described below.
As of the 1st of August ILE has been
restructured into four units. These are the Centre for Academic
Practice (CAP), the Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning (CTEL),
the Centre for Lifelong Learning, and the Research Policy Unit.
We are jointly located in MD150 on the first floor of
the Harrison Learning Centre. Please feel free to drop in and talk
We run a Postgraduate Certificate in
Academic Practice and a variety of workshops in Blended Learning
and other areas of teaching. We also provide postgraduate
training, doctoral supervision training and support for the
Early Researcher Award Scheme and have a number
of externally funded research and development
