ILE is responsible for supporting the development of student learning, curriculum design, blended, flexible and distance learning.
We run a postgraduate certificate in academic practice and a variety of workshops in blended learning and other areas of teaching.
We also provide postgraduate training, doctoral supervision training and support for the Early Researcher Award Scheme and have a number of externally funded research and development projects.

(NEW) The Teaching that Matters report written for Million+ by the CeDARE research centre showcases modern universities as dynamic, innovative and diverse institutions. The report highlights how a teaching revolution is underway with new approaches to teaching increasing employability and improving the social mobility of graduates.
We offer workshops, one-to-one and team support, a programme in academic practice for colleagues new to university teaching (PG Cert in Academic Practice in H.E ) and an Education Doctoral programme (with the School of Education).
We also support programmes for Postgraduate Research Students, the Research Supervisor Development Programme and Early Researcher Awards Scheme (ERAS).
