The University of Wolverhampton is committed to the continuous development of its researchers.
In 2009, we began working towards achieving the standards of the Research Concordat - a national system of benchmarking excellence in HR for researchers - to ensure they are nurtured and supported in their career development. Our Concordat action plan highlights the steps we are taking to achieve this (PDF - 315k - opens in new window). Find out more about the Research Concordat.
And in May 2012, we achieve the European Commission HR Excellence in Research Award (badge to the right) - a UK-wide process, incorporating the QAA Code of Practice for Research Degree Programmes and the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, that enables institutions to gain the European Commission’s ‘HR excellence in research’ badge, acknowledging alignment with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for their Recruitment.
As part of this work, we organise an engaging and extensive staff development programme, which is available to all of the University's researchers.
