"Philosophy is all about asking the big questions in life and the philosophy department at the University of Wolverhampton is there to help you try and find an answer to them. With friendly, motivated staff and a range of topics that are just as relevant now as when they were first asked centuries or even millennia ago you will have the chance to study Freedom, Perception and Language as well as a host of other topics that you have probably made use of every day but never thought to question.
The most important thing studying philosophy did for me is to make me realise that there is never just one answer to a problem. This in turn has allowed me to see that there are multiple ways to achieve my aims in life and to anticipate difficulties before they occur and deal with them. This skill is critical in the world of work and developing the habit of basing your actions on actual analysis of the situation and not just assumption will set you apart from the crowd when it comes to promotions and getting things done. Most people think that you can only become a philosophy teacher with a philosophy degree, these are the people that have never done it!"
