I have recently been appointed as Principal Lecturer for Adult branch (Acute) having been a Senior Lecturer in the Adult Branch Team for the past six years. I have been an active member of the teaching team and have enjoyed assisting students in developing their nursing skills through a variety of creative teaching methods and appropriate assessment criteria. In addition, I have undertaken a Clinical Learning Environment Co-ordinator role for New Cross Hospital, working closely with practice partners and was awarded a CELT ‘Rising Star’ 2004/05 for revamping the link teacher role. During the time I have led two modules on the RN Dip HE/BSc programme. I believe this has helped me to develop my key skills as an effective communicator both with students, peers across the sites, senior managers and external examiners and manage the QA processes. I have consistently worked with colleagues to develop the successful ANP1 module and was jointly awarded a CELT award for learning and teaching innovation in 2007/08. I have a positive, optimistic attitude, enjoy working in and across teams and like to ensure I always complete and finish tasks, to create the best possible experience for our students. I have a keen interest in research and am currently undertaking a clinical credibility project which has the potential to develop into PhD studies, as well publishing opportunities.
