The Chaplaincy

The Chaplaincy is both a place and a team of people.

The place is the Chaplaincy Centre. Based on City Campus it is situated next to Randall Lines House and is open every weekday from 8.30 to 5pm or later.

What's on offer at the Chaplaincy?...

  • a welcome for everyone, regardless of religion
  • regular spiritual and social activities
  • the opportunity to speak confidentially to a chaplain
  • a place of peace and quiet and a comfortable coffee lounge
  • TV radio and newspapers
  • keyboard and piano
  • meeting friends over a coffee
  • rooms to book for your society or group
  • kitchen - hot drinks available cheaply
  • services on Sundays and weekdays
  • ...and much more besides

People of all faiths or none are welcome. There is a prayer space set aside on the different campuses for those of Islamic faith.

The people... the chaplains work as a team and we offer a confidential ear and pastoral support throughout the University community. We also organise public lectures and discussion groups on ethics, spirituality and questions of faith and science. We link closely with the student faith societies on campus, local churches and the wider community.

Need someone to talk to?

The Chaplains are experienced in counselling and spiritual direction and are available and ready to talk to students of any religion or none.

If you would like to see a chaplain then please telephone the secretary on 01902 322903 or else call in at the Chaplaincy Centre. Someone may be available to see you straight away, but if this is not possible then you will be able to make an appointment through the Chaplaincy Centre.
