Mat Dalgleish has been a lecturer at the University of Wolverhampton since 2010 and became Course Leader for Music Technology in 2011. He specialises in teaching audio synthesis and processing, audio programming, and music for film.
Mat had previously been a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Wolverhampton and a visiting researcher at the Music Computing Lab of The Open University. He has also worked for a variety of national and international clients on projects that range from musical interaction design and software development to the creation of original music for film and new media.
Mat studied for a BA(Hons) in Fine Art at the University of Northumbria and Coventry University, an MA (with Distinction) in Media Arts from Coventry University, and a PhD from the University of Wolverhampton on the design of digital musical instruments.
Mat's research interests are situated at the intersection of design, performance and technology. Particular interests include how the histories of live electronic music can inform the design of digital musical instruments, and how novel interfaces can aid the understanding and learning of more traditional musical skills.
