Accommodation Accessibility

If you are physically, hearing or visually impaired or have a serious medical condition such as epilepsy or diabetes, let us know as soon as possible and we’ll do everything we can to ensure you receive the right accommodation and offer you the necessary support.

It is particularly important you complete the section on the accommodation agreement entitled 'additional/special information'. If we require further information, we will contact you.

Our facilities

  • Mobility problems - the en-suite halls at City Campus, Telford, and Walsall, plus some rooms at Compton Park, have been specially designed
  • Deaf / heard of hearing - several rooms, both standard and en-suite have facililties for deaf/hard of hearing students. You do need to tell us so we can give you the right accommodation. These rooms have flashing door bells and visual alerts to the fire alarm.
  • Deaf alerters - Residential Services or your Campus office can offer Deaf Alerters free of charge. These will be loaned for the duration of your stay in halls, but you may be asked for a deposit as the equipment is expensive. Do not hesitate to ask on arrival.
  • Carer accommodation - if you think you may need a carer to come with you to halls, please give us plenty of notice so we can book rooms together. Note that the Disabled Student Allowance is not currently available for students from overseas.

It is important that you view the accommodation before you commit yourself to a contract as everyone's needs can be different. We are happy to arrange a viewing at your convenience.
