There are around 2,500 computers across the University for students to use in School computer labs and Learning Centres, each with access to the standard Microsoft software.
Students benefit from:
Each School has its own computer labs, some of which are open to everyone, and others just for students of that School.
Most teaching rooms are equipped with sound and projection facilities. Find out more about these by visiting our Our Schools.
And the City Campus's open plan, state-of-the art Technology Centre provides around 600 PCs and support when you need it.
The Learning Centres on each campus are open at times to suit you, and offer access to online journals and other electronic resources. Find out more by visiting Learning Centres.
And the Social Learning Spaces, such as on the ground floor of MC Building on City Campus, offer relaxed areas where you can use a computer whilst chatting to your friends over a cup of coffee.
As a student of the University, you can purchase some software at a discount, so that you can use the same software on your home computer as you do at the University.
All computers have basic accessibility tools to help students with special needs. The Student Enabling Centre also offers specialist enabling technology to support learning.
