Winning Design for The Volunteer of the Year Award

Fine Art students from the School of Art & Design competed to design the medal for the University’s Volunteer of the Year Award.

A competition was launched to design the medal and was open to all students enrolled on the Sculpture option of the Fine Art, Media and Methods elective.

The selection panel was delighted with the quality of submissions and he winner was Georgina Shepherd, whose design represents the university connection within the community in its widest sense. An honorary mention also went to Michael Gaunt because the panel recognised his creative interpretation of volunteering in the community.

The medal will be presented to the winner of The University of Wolverhampton Volunteer of the Year Award, at the Award ceremony on 3 June 2009, which will celebrate the achievements of all student volunteers.
