New exhibition showcases illustration graduates
Illustrations by University of Wolverhampton alumni are to be displayed in a new exhibition to celebrate 20 years of a degree course.
The
School of Art & Design
is holding a
BA (Hons) Illustration
Alumni Exhibition and Reunion to celebrate two decades of Illustration at the University.
The event is open until Friday 21November 2008 in the Millennium City Building Gallery at the City Campus. There will also be a Private View and Reunion for graduates and staff on Friday 7 November.
Work by graduates will be on display in the exhibition, which is open to the public from 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday and on Saturday 8 November from 10am until 4pm.
Gill Sampson, Course Leader Illustration, said: "A great response to the reunion and exhibition event confirms how our graduates both value and enjoy their time here on the course. The showcase of artwork is a taster of the very many diverse and distinguished achievements of our graduates, both within illustration practice, the visual communications industry and many other related areas."
Graduate Lester Meachem is now the Divisional Leader for Visual Communications. He said: “This exhibition is a celebration of successes and achievements spanning 20 years of Illustration at the University of Wolverhampton. I am delighted to still be involved in a course which has taught and fostered such a huge amount of illustrative talent and which continues to be an effective launching platform for budding professional illustrators, designers and educators.”
Throughout the event there will be an opportunity to attend tours of the subject area, workshops and talks.
Former students were invited to submit up to four examples of their work for the exhibition.
