The electronic submission of all (appropriate) assessed course work has benefits for staff and our learners. All UK Universities are on the road to making this facility available to all staff and students, and at Wolverhampton we have two tools which can be used, WOLF and PebblePAD.
Given that half a million pieces of paper change hands over a summer assessment period, it is worth giving careful thought about incorporating e-submission into your course.
The benefits of submitting assessed work electronically seem obvious, in that students are no longer required to journey into the University and incur cost and expense, just to hand work in. Additionally, staff can instantly see who has submitted work and who has not, and it lends itself to providing feedback electronically, which is clear to read and delivered instantly to learners. The University uses e-submission for all modules where assessments have been designed for e-submission, or where staff use e-feedback, e-marking and/or e-annotation.
Those of our students who have submitted their work electronically and receive electronic feedback extol the virtues of being able to do so. Have a look at the blended learning video about the the use of e-submission (streaming WMV/video file - opens in a new window - subtitled)
The BLU have recently created support areas in both WOLF and PebblePad which hold comprehensive tip sheets and movies that will take you through all functionality available in both platforms.

Getting started with WOLF and PebblePad
These videos are aimed at new students to the University and highlight how WOLF and PebblePad can help them with learning and personal development throughout their time at the University. Each video is no more than five minutes long and can be shown to students, for example, as part of induction or welcome week.
