Hi-tech new studios for Uni students

 

Major Key Studios, who run two foundation degrees with the University, have taken a suite of rooms at the landmark West Bromwich arts centre, The Public. The rooms include two studios, a control room, a mixing and production suite as well as a green room and kitchen.

 

Budding music moguls on the foundation degree courses in Music Industry Practice and Sound Production, offered by the School of Sport, Performing Arts and Leisure, will be able to use the hi-tech equipment from September.

 

Major Key Studios owners and lecturers Ken Banks and Phil Savage are delighted to be expanding into The Public.

 

Ken said: “Moving into The Public gives us a fantastic opportunity to look at innovative collaborations within the arts, and we are tremendously excited about this new challenge.”

 

Phil added: "The move to The Public is a big step to establishing an international school of excellence for music."

Major Key Studios is promoting a number of live music events at The Public during August and September.
