Dragons’ Den graduate celebrates major deal

 

Kate Ingram and her business partner Al Jimenez tried to win a £150,000 investment from the five dragons on the BBC Two show.  Although they did not secure backing from the fearsome business gurus, their company Babeco has since been approached by Mothercare, which is now selling the product online.

 

The Baby Station and is a baby seat and play base, suitable for youngsters from four months, that allows them to sit upright in a comfortable position. A flexible foam seat offers comfort for the child and an adjustable three point safety harness ensures safety.

 

Kate, now 36, graduated in 2005 with a BA (Hons) in Business Management from the University of Wolverhampton Business School and is now based in Weston-Super-Mare.

 

Kate said: “The day of filming was very hectic and surreal, and exciting too. When the dragons turned us down we felt a bit deflated. But we have had such a lot of interest in the Baby Station and now Mothercare is selling it – so it was worth every minute. Since filming Dragons’ Den, orders for the Baby Station have been flying in, so we are now actually relieved that the dragons missed the opportunity!”
