Concert by music students
Talented University of Wolverhampton musicians are to perform a concert featuring a composition by a student.
The concert at The Crossing at St Paul's, Walsall, will take place at 7.30pm on Friday, 29 February 2008. Members of the public are welcome to attend the event, which is sponsored by the Worfield Concert Charity Trust.
Students from the music department of the
School of Sport, Performing Arts and Leisure
are to attend a free composition workshop at 2pm on the same day. There will be a special focus on new works for wind quintet, composed by second year composers, and the best piece will be performed at the concert.
Music secretary, Vicky Coley, said: “The evening concert will feature music for wind quintet and Poulenc’s sextet and also includes presentations to winners of the Worfield Charity Concert Trust Scholarships.”
Admission is free to students attending the workshop, £5 for the general public and £2 for concessions and other students.
