A former Dragons’ Den panellist visited the University
of Wolverhampton as its latest celebrity guest
speaker.
An audience of more than 130 people watched Simon Woodroffe
OBE give a talk on inspirational leadership at Wolverhampton
Science Park.
Ann Kimbley, of LEAD, said: “Simon’s brand of entrepreneurship
enthused the audience of University staff and business partners. We
all enjoyed his innovations and risk taking strategy as well as his
personal perspective regarding leadership and failure.”
Simon began his career in the entertainment business and his
production companies designed and staged concerts for artists
including Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder and George Michael.
In 1997, Simon founded YO! Sushi, a conveyor belt sushi bar
which aims to offer a complete entertainment experience.
He most recently appeared on the BBC 2 hit programme Dragons’
Den as one of the panellists who decide whether to invest in a
range of inventions and business ideas.
The seminar was the second in the Inspirational Leadership
Programme, hosted by the University in partnership with the
Leadership Foundation for Higher Education (LFHE).
