Official opening for newest building
Staff and students have moved into the new City Campus North Administration and Teaching building which was officially opened by Sarah Brown earlier this month.
More than 80 University staff, governors and guests attended the opening of the £13.5 million building.
Sarah Brown, founder of children’s charity PiggyBankKids, performed the official opening of the Camp Street building after receiving an honorary degree from the School of Applied Sciences in recognition of her extensive charity work.
She said: “Universities such as Wolverhampton have a wealth of expertise, skills and commitment and they have unrivalled links to local schools, colleges, businesses – and indeed links across the world.”
Vice Chancellor, Professor Caroline Gipps, said: “We are honoured that Sarah Brown has performed the opening of the new Administration and Teaching Building, which provides a modern environment for students and staff.”
The new four-storey landmark near Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club’s Molineux Stadium provides state-of-the-art teaching facilities. These include a 200-seat lecture theatre, three 120-seat Learning Rooms and four Learning Pods.
Students will be using the new building also known as MX Building from the start of the academic year.
