The Wolverhampton English Proficiency Examination (WEPE)
is used to decide if your level of English is good enough to begin
a full-time degree course at the university.
You will be examined in four areas:
You will receive a global score (average score of the four
areas), and if this is the equivalent of IELTS 6.0 or above you
will be able to progress to your chosen degree.
The WEPE examination is held on the first Wednesday of
every month at the City Campus. If you want to take the examination
the cost is £60.00 in cash (from April 2013) and you must bring
your passport along with you.
To book a place please call the Student Office in
the School of Law, Social Sciences and Communications 01902
Entry points for the course depend on your English language
You are strongly advised to do some English language study
preparation before the course begins, especially if you are
entering the course at IELTS 5.0.
If you fail to reach IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) in the exam, you
may still be able to progress to your degree by taking the English Plus Preparatory Award.
