English Language Pre-Sessional Courses

These courses are for those who wish to study a full-time degree course at the university but do not have the required level of English.

Course details

Intensive pre-sessional courses include: 

• Intensive Language development
• Project work and autonomous learning skills development
• Practice in academic writing, presentation skills, and dealing with academic texts in English (both spoken and written)
• An introduction to the University and its academic culture

The English Plus Pre-sessional Award includes:

• Language and Study Skills development
• Introduction to UK academic culture
• An opportunity to engage with your degree subject.
• Optional modules (English for Business, Volunteering work placement)
• Small group tuition (max 22 per class)
